Sam Song sang a song
Darling Darlene got it wrong
Darlene rang her grammar bell
All there is to tell.
"The song that Sam Song is supposed to have sung has never been mentioned in our home," said Darlene. Her tone was filled with the despair of someone who had just been proven wrong, which in her case happened infrequently. It was a poignant experience, the memory of which promised to linger excruciatingly long.
"But then again, we live on high," she continued as though nothing significant had been remiss. "Perhaps the song that Sam Song is said to have sung has not reached upslope as of yet."
"Allow me to provide you with my email address. You can find me at dat-cat-dot.cog. Then you may be let in on the answer.
"How come you're not at dot com?" asked Darlene.
"Us Cyber-morphs have our own system," said Cog. "I thought you knew that but the I reminded myself that you are not one of us," Cog added with a superior smile that pretended to be gracious and annoyed the blazes out of Darlene.
"We Cyber-morphs," said Darling Darlene with a smile of her own.
"You're not a Cyber-morph," said Will the Wee Wizard with a laugh.
"I'm the one who stands corrected," said Cog. "Subject pronoun and all that."
"It's what you might call a Sam Song song," said Will chortling with delight, although he did not have the foggiest notion why what he had just said was so darned blasted funny.
Besides, tellers of jokes are not supposed to laugh at their own humour. It's not in good taste.
