Song Said to Have Been Sung by Sam page 14.
As the cloud wiped the face of the Man in the Moon, Darlene was dreadfully certain that she had spotted the notion that prompted Will's conjecture. She saw from whence Will's remarks derived. She saw more deeply than did he.
That is how Will and Darlene became experts on the habitat and habits of the Saw-Whet Owl. Needless to say, their parents found out about their midnight escapades but it only added to the fun. Early Saturday morning, rain or stars, Mom and Dad are out there with them.
As for Cog, he has been seen from time to time or at least it is probably that he has but it hasn't been proven. Once Cog had realized that Darlene was onto his little tricks, it is likely that he morphed himself into oblivion. For all we know, Cog morphed into a gremlin and is cached somewhere on the Internet. So if your computer freezes up, all you made need to do is say the following words:

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. As far as Darlene and Will are concerned, they would much rather be out in the wet and the cold, well before the sun has peeked over the highest mountain peak making it possible for Will and Darlene to see Saw-Whet Owls feeding their babies. Will, wouldn't you know it, always claims that his eyes have suddenly taken on amazing powers. Before the Saw-Whets commence feeding their brood, Will has already stowed his binoculars.
If you remain absolutely still, on the darkest of night, while the wind is taking its own sweet time dying the willows, you may be privileged to hear the song said to have been sung by Sam. If you do, keep it in your heart for that's where it has lived from long ago even as far back as a time before time itself.
